About This Work

The composition organizes twenty circular forms into a loose vertical grid, each disk anchored by a dense black center from which filaments extend outward, thinning as they reach the perimeter and then stretching to neighboring nodes. Transparent layers of cerulean, teal, magenta, cadmium red, and goldenrod overlap to create secondary hues where circles intersect, while cooler tones tend to occupy the right and upper registers and warmer tones cluster toward the left and middle, establishing a subtle chromatic rhythm. The off-white field remains visible through the veiled color, allowing the web of black lines to oscillate between acting as connective tissue and as an independent linear mesh that flattens and deepens space simultaneously. The regularity of the grid is gently disrupted by shifts in circle size, edge softness, and line density, suggesting a pulsing, relational structure that echoes the associative implications of the title without resolving into a fixed diagram.
