About This Work

Organized as a strict grid of vertical rectangles, the work stages a sequence of rounded, almost tablet-like forms that sit within each cell, slightly offset or nested to create a measured tension between containment and expansion. Dark, nearly black dividing lines establish a stable architectural framework, while planes of cobalt blue, cadmium red, mustard yellow, pale pink, teal, and ivory press against one another, sometimes overlapping in translucent layers that complicate the apparent flatness of the surface. Repeated yet subtly varied shapes establish a steady visual rhythm, as shifts in scale, curvature, and color saturation guide the eye laterally and vertically across the composition. The title “Windows of Perception #1” finds a quiet echo in the serial arrangement of these compartments, each functioning like a discrete aperture through which a different modulation of color, edge, and spatial depth is articulated.
